Description

The leading environmentally friendly chalk paint brand launches a new collection called The Lazy Range – a revolutionary chalk paint that needs no sealing or wax. When painting almost any type of furniture, paintbrushes are essential for an efficient and simple job. Choose the right size brush for the size of area you are painting. As demonstrated in the video by Craig, a small roller is also a useful choice for certain areas.

Cupboards: Any of the Frenchic paints that work on wood will be a great option for cupboards, such as the original range, the Al Fresco range, and the Lazy Range can all be used. If looking to paint kitchen or bathroom cupboards, you should opt for a waterproof option like the Al Fresco. A ready prepared piece of furniture – see our advice and video on how to prepare your furniture for painting. Furniture plays a significant role in your home’s décor. Over time, it can naturally become worn, suffer damage or simply lose its appeal as you look to update your space.Kitchens: Due to the moisture level within kitchens, you should opt for a Frenchic paint that performs well with water – like the Lazy Range. Finishing coat – it is not necessary to apply finishing coat or a varnish over Lazy Range or Al Fresco but should you wish to do so, leave 2 hours after the final coat of Lazy Range before applying.

Frenshimmer: Like Frensheen, this is intended to add shimmer to paints, creating standout furniture and eye-catching wooden features. A 750ml tin will provide a coat of up to 12.5m 2. For a durable finish, a minimum of 2 coats is required, so your 750ml tin should provide full coverage for just over 6m 2 on non-porous surfaces like laminate or metal. Walls: Frenchic’s range of chalk wall paint will be the best choice for covering walls, though other paints like the Lazy Range can be used.

To get started, dip your brush into the paint, just around 1-2 centimetres, and tap off any excess as shown in the video. Try not to overload your brush as this can lead to problems with uneven surface texture, especially on edges. Light pressure and long even strokes will help you achieve a smooth finish.

A quality water-based trim paint with a light satin finish intended for skirting boards, doors, and radiators. It can also be used as furniture paint. It offers good scuff resistance, making it an excellent choice for busy areas. Frenchic Chalk Wall Paint Alternatively, you can opt for our Original Artisan Range, which is a traditional style chalk paint – ideal for distressing, layering and other creative effects. Pair with a choice of top coats, waxes, metallic paints and decorative powders for furniture that really stands out. Metal: Al Fresco paint is a great option for metal elements and furniture, whether inside or outside.

Useful items like masking tape, a paint tray if using a roller, dust sheets, something to open your tin, and something to stir the paint. Reseal tin after use. Clean up any spills immediately with water. Wash brushes in warm, soapy water. When it comes to colour, it’s completely up to you which shade (or shades) you want to paint your furniture. But in terms of the paint itself, Frenchic offers a selection of high-quality chalk paints for you to choose from. If possible, it is often best to turn over your piece of furniture so you can start painting the bottom and lower parts first. It really makes these bits easy to see and reach. Plus it saves you from a lot of potential bending! If you can raise it up on a table then even better. Step 2: Go with the Grain Use a paint tray to coat the roller, ensuring your roller is nice and evenly loaded. Craig’s tip is to start painting in the middle of the top and to work outwards. Keep it light because exerting firm pressure can cause rollers to skid, particularly on the first coat, leading to an uneven texture. Watch out for any excess paint sitting on the edges – you can smooth this with a paintbrush if necessary. Finish off with long, even strokes in the direction of the grain.
