I used a mix of sugars for the sponge. You can use all caster sugar or all light brown soft sugar if you prefer. Start by melting both chocolates, the golden syrup and butter together in a pan on a low heat. Then leave the mixture to cool for 10 minutes. Prepare the fillings and stir them together in a mixing bowl. In a large mixing bowl, sift flour, cocoa powder, baking powder and baking soda. Then add sugars and whisk together.

Make the icing by combining the butter (again, room temperature) with the icing sugar, and a paste make of the cocoa, Ovaltine and some boiling water. This list is definitely made for you.
